DENTAL EROSION
What is dental erosion?
Dental Erosion is a condition in which the tooth enamel wears away. This usually occrus due to exporuse to food, drink or stomach acid.
Enamel is the hardest part of the tooth structure that protects the dentin. The dentin will be painful or more sensitive if there is a problem.
SIGNS OF DENTAL EROSION
So, for this problem sometimes or generally erosion of the teeth does not require medical treatment. However, if the condition of the teeth feels sore of painful, you should immediately go to the dentins fo an examination.
In general, if you pay attention to the surface of the teeth, it looks smoother and shiny. However, it is different from the condition of the teeth where erosion occurs, as a sigh of tooth erosion:
- Discoloration of the teeth to yellow resulting in exposed dentin layer.
- Has an irregular pattern.
- Being sensitive, when consuming food of drink.
Then, what causes erosion?
Back to the initial discussion that tooth erosion occurs due to acid. This acid substance comes from food or drink which can make the enamel lose some of its minerals and become soft.
So, what about the salivary glands in the mouth?

it is important for us to be aware of the occurrence of tooth erosion. Why? Because dental erosion can make your teeth vulnerable to caries or cavities.
when cavities develop and become infected, this is very risky and can cause more serious complications, such as:
- spread of infection to face and neck,
- inflammation of the inner lining of the heart, and
- meningitis or meningitis.
There are also home treatments that everyone can do alone:
- Gargling with warm water to remove leftoves in cavities.
- Use flossing to remove food stuck beteween the teeth.
- Take pain relievers on the doctor’s advice.
- Brushing teeth properly and at the right time, using a type of toothbrush with a small or medium head and soft bristles.
- Dont rush in brushing your teeth.
- After eating you should with about one or two hours before brushing your teeth. To give time to collect mineral again.
- Eat cheese and milk to neutralize acid after eating.
- Drink quickly without holding in your mouth.
- EROSION HAPPENED DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF TOO MUCH ACID.
- EROSION DOES NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL TREATMENT IF IT IS NOT SEVERE.
- EROSION CAN MAKE HOLES AND BECOME INFECTION.
- EROSION CAN BE PREVENTED IN A SIMPLE WAY.
