                FACTORS THAT CAUSE LOOSE TEETH

Each tooth has a supporting tissue called periodontal tissue which consists of gum, cementum, alveolar bone and periodontal ligament. Periodontal tissue is in charge of attaching the teeth to the alveolar bone or jawbone so that the teeth do not move and fall out of their sockets.

Teeth are stated to shake when we touch it with our hands or tongue it will move. The cause of loose teeth is usually due to problems with the teeth and mouth caused by daily habits.

The following factors can cause loose teeth :

1. Plaque Bacteria

Plaque bacteria cause periodontal tissue disease which is supported by poor oral hygiene such as tartar, smoking habits, systemic diseases such as diabetes mellitus, or drug use. Bacterial plaque can cause inflammation and infection of the gums and other supporting tissues. like Gingivitis is a disease that affects the gums which is characterized by bleeding gums when we brush our teeth, bad breath, and gums that are redder than usual. If it progresses to the alveolar bone or periodontal ligament due to untreated gingivitis it is known as periodontitis. When it is advanced at the periodontitis stage, this can result in loose teeth and teeth that were originally tight become rare.

2. Pregnant mother

The second factor that causes loose teeth is during pregnancy. This is due to an increase in the hormones estrogen and progesterone which can affect the bones and tissues in the mouth.

3. Accident

The next factor is caused by external factors as a result of impact on the teeth when we are injured or fall. This can also cause damage to the teeth and surrounding tissue so that the teeth become loose.

4. Night Grinding

Night grinding, or the habit of grinding your teeth at night can also cause loose teeth. Many people are not aware of this habit because it usually occurs at night while sleeping.

5. Trauma From Occlusion

Trauma from occlusion, due to having premature contact with the teeth, that is, one or several teeth contact earlier than the other teeth, causing the teeth to shake.

6. Osteoporosis

Osteoporosis, a disease that causes bones to weaken and become porous resulting in collisions that can cause fractures, which can attack the jawbone and become loose and cause loose teeth.

Those are some of the factors that cause loose teeth, I hope we are all more sensitive to dental and oral health so that we can avoid the factors that cause loose teeth and other oral problems. So that we can keep our teeth as long as possible and not experience tooth loss due to extraction.

stay healthy stay happy and don't forget to always pray,  thank you :)
